Amazing Eco-Friendly Inventions That Will Change the World

 Eco friendly inventions

In this world full of pollution some people are trying to change it. They are developing certain technologies or objects which would help to clean and reduce pollution. During the 2020 Global pandemic covid the levels of CO2 were decreasing at a rapid rate and was considered as the start of the Green revolution, but as the global economy again raised in 2021 the rate of production of CO2 again increased. In this post we will tell you about various inventions done by people to reduce pollution.

Car running on water

Fossil fuels like petroleum and diesel are getting depleted due to continuous use which is causing increasing prices of these fossil fuels. But as an alternative source scientists of IIT Madras University have created a car Unstoppable the car runs on natural resource water. It is based on the process in which the hydrogen from water is extracted and it reacts with an aluminium sheet present in the car which produces energy and helps the car to run. It also produces very less pollution thus it helps us to save fossil fuels and also not produce air pollution and protects the environment.

Whitest paint

A team of engineers from University of Indiana have developed Ultra white paint Which helps in reducing the temperature of the surrounding and helps to save the cost of air conditioner. This white colour reflects  98.1% of  sunlight falling on it. This project was led by Xiulin ruan in order to save the electricity consumed by air conditioners and reduce their need.  Whenever this Ultra white paint is painted on a surface it reduces the temperature off the surface and the surrounding it could be used for painting buildings which will reduce the temperature inside the building and it also produce infrared heat which not only cools the building from inside but also cools its surrounding air. If the paint is painted on an area of 1000 square ft we would get a cooling power of 10 KV.

Edible water

An organisation named Skipping rocks lab created a blob of water called Ooho. It works like a water bottle. It is flexible and has a texture of jelly. It is one of the best alternatives for plastic Water bottles. Ooho is completely biodegradable. The water is first frozen into small balls and then covered with brown algae which forms a layer around the water and as the water liquifies it becomes a water Blob which can be  directly eaten or after removing the outer surface off the blob. Cost of Ooho is 2 cents. The outer covering is as strong as a fruit peel. But still it is not available in the market and people are developing it more and we hope that it will be launched soon.

Biodegradable plastic bag

Plastic Bags are one of the biggest threats to the environment because traditional plastic is made up of petroleum based products which takes a time period of 450 years to 1000 years. Maurice Lemoigne was a great French scientist and researcher who found biodegradable plastic in 1926. The plastic is made up of PLA (polylactic acid) It is a starch based bioplastic made up from sugarcane, corn starch and wheat.. It is carbon neutral, edible and 100% biodegradable. And it is also cheap as corn is the cheapest raw material for production. Kartik Chandran is a Colombian student working to produce bio plastic from waste water and solid waste. It is very useful as it takes very less time to decompose.

 Solar bottle bulb

There are many countries in the world which are full of poverty and electricity comes rarely. But a student Illac Diaz from the Philippines has recycled a water bottle and created a light which works day and night continuously without electricity. First the water bottle is filled ¾ by water and then a spoon full of bleach is added to it, the bleach stops algae and fungus from growing in water. A solar panel is also attached to it with a light. Then the water bottle is placed half above the selling. In the day the sunlight is refracted by the water and light is produced and at night the solar energy produced in the day is utilised and light is produced from the light bulb. Light from a lightbulb has a power of 50 to 60 watts which is enough to illuminate a house. It can be used in rural area and in country with poverty this thing will help them a lot.

Air ink

Air pollution is responsible for the death of 5 million people each year. But the company Air ink is trying to stop this problem they are converting pollution into black ink. It is a company started and set up in india. The pollution produced by cars and vehicles is collected by a device called Kaalink which is attached to the exhaust pipe of cars and collects 93% of pollution produced and then it is converted to black ink and used again. Pollution produced in a drive of 40 to 50 min can be used to produce one refill of a pen. There are 29,58,00,000 cars only in India so imagine how many refills can be produced. The ink is used for pen and printer ink. Instead of using new resources for production of ink we could use air ink.

Plastic eating caterpillar

As we have an invention which can replace plastic but what about the plastic which is already produced ? There are some small worms which eat plastic. They are called Plastivores. The Brandon researchers have found that plastivores worms could survive on the diet of only polyethylene. And their body could digest plastic. This could be useful but not much as plastic present on earth is 8.3 million ton and we are continuously producing it. And these small animal’s can’t eat this much plastic but their small initiative could also be helpful. They cannot survive only on a diet of plastic for more than a year. So we should reduce plastic.
